However, it is important to learn about all of the great features included within in, especially any that are new to the Galaxy line.

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to be presented to hungry tech enthusiasts in New York City today, March 14, 2013 in its very own event. It is said to far surpass previous generations of the smartphone line, and is expected to actually go on sale in May.

One of the best aspects of the new flagship smartphone from the South Korean tech giant is the screen. The Galaxy S IV will be sporting a five inch Super AMOLED HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels and an incredible 441 pixels per inch. It will be protected by tough Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which will keep the phone highly durable in the event of an accidental drop. Web browsing will be a pleasure with this wonderful screen, as will personalization thanks to the TouchWiz user interface.

The Samsung Galaxy S IV will follow in its older brother, the Samsung Galaxy S III’s footsteps in providing users with a choice of versions that include 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Of course, the device also includes a microSD slot that supports cards of up to 64GB of additional external storage. 2GB of RAM and a 1.8GHz quad-core Octa processor will deliver an extreme amount of power to the phone, allowing users to stream content, browse the web and use multiple apps at once. The processor is more powerful than that found on the Galaxy S III.

Of course, the operating system on the Galaxy S IV will be upgraded from last year’s 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered Galaxy S III. It remains to be seen whether the smartphone will include Android’s 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system or the brand new, expected 5.0 Key Lime Pie. In any case, even if it is equipped with the former, the Samsung Galaxy S IV will surely be upgradable to the latter at some point.

Another great feature of the S IV is the primary rear-facing camera. This too is a feature that has been upgraded since the previous generation of the Galaxy phone, which was only 8 megapixels. The new device will boast 13 megapixels and include autofocus, image stabilization and of course, LED Flash. Photo quality will be in HD, with video capturing at 1080 pixels and 30 frames per second. The secondary front-facing camera is 2 megapixels, perfect for video chatting and also capable of HD video.
